In the past, Valentine's Day has been an opportunity for couples to put life on hold and spend a romantic evening together. However, over the past couple of years, indoor dining restrictions limited intimidate dining experiences for lovers and restaurant owners.

Thankfully, this year restaurants are open and ready to make up for the lost time. You can expect elegant atmospheres with incredible special menus to accommodate couples who have spent the last two Valentine's Days eating takeout or cooking at home.

Hotel Shangri-La

The Onyx indoor-outdoor restaurant in the Hotel Shangri-La is always a fantastic choice for date night. Couples can enjoy an unforgettable meal with views of Santa Monica beach and take a walk on the pier after dinner.

Hotel Shangri-La offers a special menu for Valentine's Day featuring 3 courses. You'll start with Maryland crab cake with frisee and apple or Waldorf salad with tomato gazpacho. The main course is braised pinwheel short rib, jumbo tiger shrimp, haricot verts, and mashed potatoes with demi-glaze, and couples will enjoy Creme Brulee for dessert.

Il Cielo in Beverly Hills has a stunning outdoor seating area straight out of a fairy tale. Couples can enjoy classic Italian dishes in a romantic setting. Their Valentine's Day menu includes three amazing courses with appetizers and main course options. All patrons will enjoy Il Cielo's signature dense, heart-shaped, flourless chocolate cake, draped with Belgian chocolate ganache and edible 24 karat gold.

The Little Door (one of our favorite romantic restaurants in LA) is throwing a Soulmate Soiree this Valentine's Day. Executive Chef Jonathan Portela is serving several courses of mouthwatering American fare under the iconic, candle-lit outdoor seating area.

Beverly Hills is full of legendary hotels; one of the most famous is the Beverly Wilshire. Inside is an incredible restaurant serving California cuisine, theBLVD. They are doing a four-course menu for Valentine's Day with two options per course. A couple of standouts are the Imperial Osserta Caviar, Poached Lobster Tail, and Wagyu Beef tartare. theBLVD is also serving two special cocktails and sharable plates.
